In 1994, never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that depression would take over my life for the next 9 years. Finally, a new doctor stepped in and “rescued me”. All of these unnecessary, horrible years withstanding the likes of bozo psychiatrists, meds, ECT’s, therapy, and hospitals. But, I’ve landed back on my feet, and able to work again. Meds are effective, and I consider myself incredibly lucky.
Couldn’t have survived all of these years without the support of my hubby of 29 years and my family.
Virginia was a brilliant author, penning some 10 novels, numerous short fiction and non-fiction, as well as, autobiographies. However she was the victim of depression and drastic mood swings, later diagnosed as Bipolar Disorder. Relapse after relapse eventually led to her death in 1941. Virginia drowned herself by weighing her pockets with stones and walking into a river. Her body was not discovered until one month later.
